The client: A multi-billion dollar global asset management firm

The challenge: A VP in their private equity investor relations department was going out on maternity leave. Several large projects, including the firm’s annual investor meeting, would take place during VP’s time out of the office. They needed someone who could manage all of these large projects and execute the annual meeting in her absence.

The solution: Prokanga sourced a candidate with 10+ years of private equity IR experience. She had recently left her role as head of business development for a middle market private equity firm, had her first baby, and was looking for her full-time next VP level investor relations role. The maternity leave coverage role enabled her to keep her resume and skills active while interviewing for full-time roles.


The client: A NYC-based healthcare non-profit.

The challenge: The organization had lost a long time leader and needed someone to keep the team focused while they evaluated what the ideal leadership situation would be going forward.

The Prokanga solution: Prokanga identified a candidate with a career as a private sector COO who was looking to make a transition to the non-profit sector and simultaneously helped the client define the need as “Interim Executive Director”. The consulting nature and limited duration of the role made this an ideal situation for the candidate to test her interest in the non-profit space while guiding the organization through a time of transition.

Prokanga A is a interim COO with 30 years of operations (buying and merchandising) leadership experience for brands including Kiss My Face, Benckiser / COTY, Target, Filene's, Colgate Palmolive. She graduated from University of Michigan and received her MBA from NYU.

Prokanga B has 10+ years of progressive experience in private equity investor relations and fundraising (analyst to VP) with a single firm. When there was a change in leadership at the firm, she left to pursue an accelerated MBA program, and is looking for short-term contracts while she identifies the firm that will be the best next step in her career. She received her BA from Emory.

Prokanga C has 12 years of experience beginning in investment banking and shifting into business analytics and financial planning for apparel brands, including The Row and Elizabeth & James. Significant experience with cross functional collaboration and reporting to senior leadership and investors. Undergrad in China (Mandarin speaker) and MBA from BU.

Prokanga D has 20 years of hedge fund fundraising and investor relations experience. She spent the majority of her career with two funds, and left after the birth of her second child. She currently consults for a family office, handling marketing/IR as well as operational responsibilities. She has a longstanding relationship with this office, allowing her to step away for up to a year for interesting project work. She graduated from NYU.
